Mary Ruth Martin, age 82 of Double Springs, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation Center in Double Springs, Alabama.
She was born February 7, 1942 to George Artis and Etoil Pearson. Mary was an active 50 year member of Pine Grove Church of God, where she worked with the ladies’ ministries, senior citizens group, missions, and the youth. She once traveled with her husband Coy to Haiti on a World Misson trip. Mary enjoyed camping, traveling, boat rides and all things outdoors. She could also be found crafting, gardening, and canning. Mary was a faithful wife and a loving mother.
Visitation will be Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00p.m. at Pine Grove Church of God in Double Springs, where the service will begin at 2:00p.m. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs. Brother T.J. Millican will officiate.
Pallbearers will be David Hollis, David Robins, Jeremy Pearson, Chris Riddle, Michael Brown, Darryl Hollis, Brandon Lewis, and Neal Boren.
Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years, Wallace McCoy “Coy” Martin; daughter, Wanda (Bob) Wilder; granddaughter, Lauren (Jesman) Wilder; great grandchildren, Andrea Devia, Nico Devia, and Isa Devia; sisters, Yvonne Hollis, Reba Waid, Delene Brown, Peggy Strawbridge, and Patsy (Ray) Clark; brothers, Jerry (Tommie Sue) Pearson, W.C. (Judy) Pearson, and Terry (Toni) Pearson; special adopted daughter, Connie Minor; and special friend, Glennis Posey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Artis and Etoil Pearson; brother, WT Pearson.
