A wonderful soul, Mary Ruth Harris Wilburn, departed this life for her life in eternity on Monday, April 25, 2023 from NMMC-ICU unit after an extended illness. She was 73 years old. Mary Ruth, as most knew her, was the 3rd of 4 daughters born on September 25, l949 in Tupelo to the late James Henry Harris and Mary Neil Bowen Harris. She was a member of the Tupelo High School Class of l967. Mary Ruth worked for over 30 years at Walmart retiring as receiving clerk. She was a longtime faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Tupelo. She loved people and her vibrant personality was warm and welcoming always. Mary Ruth found great joy and fulfillment being G-Mama to her three grands, Taylor Ray, Tyler Wilburn and Patrick Wilburn. She had an insatiable appetite for shopping, loved seafood and cherished her long beloved companion, her dog Petey.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 29, 2023 from the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with her pastor, Rev. Emily Sanford officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-service time Saturday only at Holland Funeral Directors. For those unable to attend , the service may be viewed at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Livestreaming at 2 PM and will be archived thereafter.

Mary Ruth is survived by her two sons, Jerry Wilson Ray, Jr. of Orange Beach, Ala. And Jonathan Wilburn and wife, Ginny of the Furrs Community; her grandchildren, Taylor Ray, Tyler and Patrick Wilburn; 2 sisters, Joan Harris Smith and Dee Dee Lake Harris of Tupelo. She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Carol Harris Manley.
