Mary Ruth Edwards, age 75, of Vernon, AL, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 6:00pm at Nebo Church with burial to follow in Nebo Cemetery. Bro. Terry McAdams to officiate. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 5:00pm-6:00pm.

Mary was born on July 28, 1947 to the late Woodrow Wilson Crews and the late Arlene Mitchell Crews. She was a 1965 graduate of Lamar County High School and later attended college in Birmingham, AL. Mary was a very talented barber, beautician, and seamstress. She previously had a very full career working for the Board of Registrars, as a secretary at Eskridge Auto Parts, and running her own Ceramic Shop where she also taught classes. Mary was very passionate about children which led her to become a foster parent for several years. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Nebo Church.
