Mary Ruth Cartwright departed this life on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, 29 days.
She was born in Morris Chapel, Tennessee on July 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Walter McKinley and Zula Mae Moore Cunningham. Mrs. Cartwright had been employed with Brown Shoe Company, and a member of The Sanctuary and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her church.
Mrs. Cartwright is survived by her son, Rickey Hughes and wife Patty of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren, Heather Whitley and husband Neal, and Jonathan Hughes and wife Leigh Ann; great grandchildren, Jake Whitley, Laura Lee Whitley, Avery Hughes, and Owen Hughes; brothers, W.C. Cunningham and Bobby Cunningham both of Morris Chapel, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, R.C. Hughes on October 23, 1985; her 2nd husband, James Cartwright on August 15, 1993; infant brother, W.D. Cunningham.
