Mary Nell Hester, age 79, of Muscle Shoals (formerly of Russellville) passed away on Monday, October 03, 2022, at North Alabama Medical Center.
She was born January 21, 1943, in Franklin County to William Lafayette & Lillie (Gober) Dempsey. She worked for years as a flower designer at Flower Craft, and then retired from Golden Poultry. She was a hard worker, always did whatever was needed to take care of her family. She was very determined and independent. She loved all her family, but especially her grandchildren, always inviting their friends to come in and have something to eat. The family will cherish their memories of their mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Olen Wiley Hester, Charles O’Malley; parents, William & Lillie (Gober) Dempsey; and brothers, Jack Dempsey, Bobby Dempsey, and Hoyt Dempsey.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Joel Shewbart, Jamie Thomas Hester (Pennie); grandchildren, Tanner Hester, Hunter Hester, Shennia Busby; and several nieces & nephews.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 06, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 Friday, October 07, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Truman Sutton officiating the service. Burial will be at Mt. Home Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be John Davis, Tanner Hester, Hunter Hester, Jalen Herring, Jacob Davis, Chris Smith, and Gary Herring.
