Mary Maxine McElroy, age 76, of Dora, passed away July 11, 2024. Maxine loved cooking and taking care of her family, especially her three children. She also enjoyed shopping at thrift stores.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the New Horizon Chapel. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1-2 p.m.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband George McElroy; her parents, Cecil and Eva Burns; three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by two daughters Tammy Currie (Tim), Amanda Bigham, son Lonnie (Shena) Moon, seven grandchildren Julian Currie (Sharyll), Justin Currie (Jennifer), Jody Lowe, Jada Bigham (Darien), Katie Sloan (Preston), Lonna Wilson (Tyler)and Gracie Box (Caleb); along with three great grandchildren Mary Ellen Wilson, Sawyer Kate Sloan and Elliana Marie Box; who is on the way and special family, Frank and Pat Moon.
