On Tuesday, November 5, 2024, Mary Love Settle, 81, departed this life from Magnolia Regional Health Center following a brief illness.

Funeral Services for Ms. Settle will be at 2 PM Friday, November 8 in The Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Doc Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2 PM at the Ripley Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is planned in the Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Ms. Settle was born August 2, 1943, in Yazoo City, MS, the second daughter born to the late Harvey and Agnes Hood McGinty. A graduate of Yazoo City High School, she continued her education at Hinds County Community College and received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from Northeast Mississippi Community College. In early years, Ms. Settle was employed as a librarian with the Rick Memorial Library in Yazoo City before receiving her LPN Certificate where she continued to work in the healthcare industry, both public and private, for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ripley and enjoyed church trips as long as her health permitted. An extremely talented artist, Ms. Settle’s hobbies also included reading and traveling. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Memories will continue to be cherished by two sons, Raymond Settle of Biggersville and Jason Settle (Arlene) of Corinth, two sisters, Sharon Powell of Yazoo City and Carolyn McGinty of Arizona and a granddaughter, Tressa Settle of Memphis.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Joyce McGinty, her maternal grandparents, Alonzo and Jennie Stovall Hood and her paternal grandparents. Thomas and Maggie Ester Perkins McGinty.
