Mary Louise Hicks Shaw, age 85, of Sheffield, died Monday, June 16, 2014.
Her family will receive friends, Thursday, 11-1 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Barrett Long and Dr. Gary Carver officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Shaw was a native of Kentucky and a resident of Sheffield for more than fifty years. As a member of First Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, she served as co-hostess of the Joy Club, was a member of the WMU, sang in the choir and was involved in the ministries of her Sunday School Class. She loved preparing meals for her family and others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel Shaw; and sisters, Edith Bowles and Juanita Delk.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Shaw and wife Paula of Nebraska City, Nebraska, Dennis Shaw and wife Debbie of Harvest, Alabama; and grandson, John Shaw of Nashville, Tennessee.
Pallbearers are Clay Carroll, Dewey Willingham, Ray Balch, Sammy Richardson, Edward Balch, Chap Osteen and Jerry Wages.
Honorary Pallbearer is Theo Hannah.
