Mary Lou Wilson entered her heavenly home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 77.
She was born in Fayette County, TN, the daughter of the late Herbert Phillis and Venita Iona Hazelwood Hatch. She loved her church West Jackson Baptist Church, where she served as the church hostess for several years, sang in the choir and was a member of the Woods Bryant Sunday school class.
Mary Lou loved her Lord, and it was ever present in her daily walk. She enjoyed reading and watching movies, especially action movies, in her spare time.
She is survived by her daughter, Marybeth Nanney of Jackson, TN and two sisters, Virginia Hyslip of Bolivar, and Diane Lenhart of Medon and a very special niece that was her second daughter, Amanda Patton and nine very special nephews and nieces.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Earl Phillis.
SERVICES: A funeral service for Mary Lou will be held at 1:00 Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Maurice Hollingsworth and Rev. Ron Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Parkburg Cemetery in South Madison County.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m.
