Mary Lou Lankford Pruitt, age 76, of Gadsden, AL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Brother Gary Williams will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mary was a very hard worker. Most of her life was found mowing grass all over the mountain with her late husband. She was always very friendly and never met a stranger. Mary was truly loved by all. She loved her family and friends greatly. She enjoyed watching westerns, singing, and listening to gospel music. She will be deeply missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Pruitt; grandsons, Jeremy Bone, James Pruitt, and Joseph Pruitt; her parents; four sisters; and five brothers.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Steve Pruitt and Jesse (Divanda) Pruitt; daughters, Kathy Pruitt and Connie (Tommy Montgomery) Bone; grandchildren, Sherry (Mickey) Guthrie, Justin Bone, Nick Bone, Jakob Pruitt, Faith Steele, Michael Reed, Marcus Reed, and Jake (Christy) Reed; great grandchildren, Dakota Jessalyn, and Jamesyn Pruitt, and Anna and Alicia Guthrie; chosen children, Steve and Jill Gladden; son-in-law, Willie Bone; and sisters, Louise (Ralph) Johnson and Susie (Wayne) Gobble.
Pallbearers will be Justin Bone, Nick Bone, Mickey Guthrie, Jake Reed, Marcus Reed, and Randall Johnson.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Gadsden Regional MICU staff and the 8th floor nurses.
The family will accept friends from 6PM to 8PM at the funeral home on Friday, October 14, 2022.
