Mary Lou Ford age 97 of Greenwood Springs, MS passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023 at her residence.

Born October 26, 1925 in Sulligent, AL she is the Daughter of the late Thomas and Jeffie Danner Blaylock and the Wife of the late Lester Ford. They were married 42 years and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1985. She had lived in the Sipsey Fork Community most of her life and was the oldest member of New Center Point Free Will Baptist Church.

Having grown up on a farm she was no stranger to hard work, Being in a family of 2 boys and 9 girls, she had to work in the fields just the same as the boys. She retired from Amory Garment Company. She enjoyed reading, working word search puzzles, watching any kind of sports, and talking on the phone to her friends. She was known for her delicious chicken and dumplings and was once asked to make them for a wedding reception. She was affectionately known as Mamaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family, her grandchildren and when the great grandchildren came, that love went to another level.

She is survived by a Daughter, Judy (Donnie) Irvin of Hamilton, MS, 4 Grandchildren, DeWayne (Amy) Ford of Greenwood Springs, MS, Dawn (David) Mitchell of Amory, MS, Gabe (Brittney) Irvin of Hamilton, MS and Kellyn (Dallas) Flippo of Hamilton, MS, 10 Great Grandchildren, Hannah Whiteside, Drew (Bailey) Fowlkes, Matthew Ford, Evan Mitchell, Afton Irvin, Megan Ford, Easton Irvin, Eli Irvin, Silas Flippo, and Clay Flippo, A Great Great Grandson, Liam Crocker and Baby Girl Fowlkes due in December.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband, Lester Ford, a Son, Larry Ford, 2 Brothers, Floyd and Albert Blaylock, and 8 Sisters, Annie Laura Scott, Dena Reach, Eva Lee Irvin, Allie B. Lovelady, Stella Greene, Elean Woods, Alvie Huffstutler, and Jean Brown.

Services held Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 4:00 PM from the New Center Point Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the Pickle Cemetery. Bro. Redus Hall and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. Pallbearers, DeWayne Ford, Gabe Irvin, David Mitchell, Dallas Flippo, Drew Fowlkes, Matthew Ford and Evan Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers, Easton Irvin, Eli Irvin, Silas Flippo, and Clay Flippo.
