Mary Lou Bullman Smith age 98 passed away October 25, 2013 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born December 15, 1914 and reared in McNairy County, the daughter of the late George C. and Lessie Ann Young Bullman. She attended schools in McNairy County and was married to Cleatus Banford Smith on August 21, 1931. They made their home in the Montezuma Community all their married life. She worked on the family farm and also at Salant & Salant Mfg. for 12 years. Mr. Smith died in 1987. Mrs. Smith loved to have all of her family in her home and cook for all of them. She had made her home at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center for the past ten years. She was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a son, Harold Wayne Smith and wife Norma Jean of Finger; two daughters, Mary Joe Howell and husband Frank of Fairview and Jerelene McNeil of Henderson; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Banford Smith, a son, C.B. Smith, Jr. and three daughters, Maurine Ward, Betty Doris Weaver and Marie Smith; five brothers, Calvin Bullman, Otis Bullman, Buren Bullman, Clarence Bullman and Emmitt Bullman and six sisters, Odell Bullman, Ossie Lee Bullman, Allean Rowland, Cleo Bailey, Gladys Bullman and Virgie Bullman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday October 26, 2013 at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating and burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM Saturday.
