Mary Lois Wright, 97 of Ashland, passed away peacefully February 25, 2023. at her home surrounded by her family.

Services honoring the life of Mrs. Wright will be Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 1PM  in the Heritage Chapel of Ripley Funeral home with Bro. Stanley Huddleston officiating.  Visitation will be from 11AM until time of service. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery.

A Christian and longtime member of Ashland Primitive Baptist Church, Mrs. Wright was born in Tippah County to the late John Author and Sallie Ann Dickerson Huddleston.  She was a graduate of Walnut High School and a valued employee at Sunbeam for 30 years as a payroll clerk.

Mrs. Wright was well loved in her small town of Ashland.  She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family and community.  She lived a life of great faith and her love for the Lord was apparent in all she did, and to all who knew her.

Some of her favorite past times included reading her Bible daily, watching soap operas, tending her garden, visiting friends, eating fish and steak and celebrating her favorite holiday Easter with her many family members.

Blessed with a large family, Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of 78 years, George W. Wright, two daughters, Patricia Boone, and Teresa Gresham (Larry) both of Ashland, one son, David Wright (Theresa) of Slayden, one daughter in law, Fredia Wright of New Albany, one brother, Tate Huddleston (Wanda) of Ashland, nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Wright, one brother Murry Huddleston, and one son in law Joe Boone.
