Mary Lois Strawbridge, 83, of Florence, died Thursday June 12, 2014, at Florence Nursing and Rehab following an extended illness. Graveside services will be held Saturday June 14, 2014, at 2pm, in Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Trussville, AL.
Mrs. Strawbridge was born June 23, 1930, in Birmingham, AL to the late George A. Coleman and Emma Mae Horsely Coleman. She was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Florence and a home maker. She is remembered as a people person who was always on the go.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Firrell Strawbridge and brother, Dempsey Coleman. She is survived by her son, Darrell Strawbridge (Euna), Fayetteville, GA; daughters, Diane White (Steve), Killen, AL and Cheryl Strawbridge, Bon Wier, TX; sister, Shirley Acton (Jim), Birmingham, AL; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. David Brown for his years of care and compassion of Mrs. Strawbridge and also Florence Nursing and Rehab for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Children’s Hospital of Birmingham, 1600 7th Ave. South, Birmingham, AL 35233-1785, in honor of her grandson, Dakin White, RN.
