Mary Lois Greer, 92, died Saturday in Pensacola, Florida. Mrs. Greer was born Nov. 18, 1924, in Rogersville, Alabama to the late James Timothy Thornton and Elaine White Thornton. Mrs. Greer was a member of the Eastern Star, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rogersville, and a former manager of the Joe Wheeler State Park gift shop.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rogersville, with Pat Driskel officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Ingram Cemetery.
Mrs. Greer’s survivors include daughter, Doris Godwin, of Pensacola, Florida, and grandson, Greer Godwin, of Pensacola, Florida. She is survived by one brother, Elston Thornton, of Athens, Alabama; two sisters, Robbie Spry, of Center Star, Alabama, and Betty Parker, of Rogersville, Alabama; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Jim and Elaine Thornton; husband, Emmett O. Greer; son-in-law, Rudy Godwin; and brothers, Austin Thornton and Jerry Thornton.
