Mary Lee Wray – Obituary

Mary Lee Wray (Adams) age 89, a resident of Culleoka, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Parkway Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow beside her husband of 50 years in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at Parkway Baptist Church.

Mary Lee was born March 21, 1929, in Fayetteville, TN, to the late Will and Ethel Bryant. Mary Lee was married to Otto Wray for 50 years until his death in 1998. She later married Mr. Paul Adams in 2000 until his death in 2002.

During her time with Otto, they reared 11 children, including those who survive her, David (Linda) Wray, Villard (Jeannie) Wray, Danny (Karen) Wray, Ted Wray, Teresa (Mike) Bullion, Freddie (Shannon) Wray, Jimmy Wray, John Wray and Rachel Fitzgerald; 38 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Lee enjoyed quilting, dancing at the Briar Patch, gardening, tending to her chickens, going to yard sales and shopping at the Amish; but above all, she loved her family and the hundreds of children she opened her heart and home to through the years.

Mary Lee was preceded in death by Mr. Otto Wray, Mr. Paul Adams, her son, Paul Wray, her grandsons, P.J. Wray and Ryan Wray, her daughter, Fran Tosh along with two brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Ted Wray, Jr., Jason Wray, Daniel Wray, Mica Webb, Amy Wray Stokes, Holly Rowell, Kayla Bullion, Billie Jean Wray and Amber Wray.

Honorary pallbearers will be Crystal Jones, Danny Wray, Villard Wray, Lyndon Webb, Julieanna Brewington, Carson Crownover, and her 38 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Meghan Gannon, Dr. Nathaniel Lafferty, Dr. Janice Vinson and Hospice Compasus (Tanna, Susan, Antonio, Maggie and Mary).
