Mary Lana Patterson Wingo passed away peacefully December 29, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 73. She was born to Mary Madelon and Edgar Wayne Patterson on July 14, 1950 in Milan, Tennessee. She graduated from Bradford High School and from Union University, receiving her Master’s of Education from the University of Tennessee Martin as well as 40 hours toward her doctorate. She was a lifelong learner, starting her career teaching at Bradford High School and becoming the Curriculum Supervisor for Bradford Schools. She became an Education Specialist for the State of Tennessee, retiring after 45 years of service. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Bradford and later First Baptist Church Jackson. Lana loved to read and travel. She was always looking forward to her next adventure.
Lana is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Wingo, her son Tad (Tara) of Hannibal Mo. and her daughter Shana Pace (Robert) of Savannah, Ga. She was the most beloved Nana to three grandsons; Jack Wingo, Sully Pace, and Grady Pace.
A visitation to honor and remember Lana will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors in Jackson. A private burial will take place.
