Mary Kathryn Underwood, 90, passed from this earth into her Heavenly home Thursday, December 21, 2023. She departed surrounded by her loving family. She was received by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born October 6, 1933, in Lee County to Jimmy and Ruby Bradley Miller. She worked many years at Shoney’s and was the manager at Dolly Madison Thrift Store. She was a member of Chaplin Baptist Church in Chaplin, KY. She was devout in her faith. She loved reading her Bible and spending time in prayer. She was devoted to her family. She raised nieces and a nephew as her own. It was her desire that they all know Jesus. She loved to laugh and joke.
Awaiting her in Heaven are her husband, Ray Underwood; her parents; a brother, James Miller.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sharon Harrison (Mark) and Elizabeth Gray (Matt); her grandchildren, Scott Gray (Chastin), Dylan Gray (Anna Caryl), Alex Gray (Autumn) and Sarah Harrison: along with nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 2 PM Wednesday at Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Harrison and Rev. Rusty Miller officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation will be 5 – 8 Tuesday and 1 – 2 Wednesday
