Funeral for Mary Jean Meadows, 86, of Decatur will be today, February 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Eddie Scheler officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Meadows, who died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at River City Healtah and Rehab, was born November 26, 1927, in Morgan County to Charles and Willie Sittason. She was a Lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was a bookkeeper at Decatur High School for 25 years where she made lifelong friends. She was an excellent cook, seamstress and craftsperson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Maurice Lee Meadows; three brothers, Charles E. Sittason Jr., William Rex Sittason and Raymond Sittason; and one nephew, Charlie Sittason.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie M. Hamm and husband, Lee, Pamela Meadows and Susan M. Grosse and husband, Gus; two grandchildren, Stephanie Payne and husband, Matt, and Scott Hamm and wife, Sarah; three nieces and four nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
