Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary Jean Huie McCurry, 79, of Glencoe who passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Rev. Darrin Post will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services is directing. Jean was born December 15, 1942 in Gadsden. She was a 1961 graduate of Glencoe High School. She was a faithful member of North Glencoe Baptist Church since 1969 where she sang in the choir. Her passion was working at the church with the youth, to whom she was known as Jelly Bean. She treasured life, family and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Quincy and Gertis Huie and son, David “Ted” McCurry. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Chris McCurry; grandchildren, Bellah and Allie McCurry and Caleb McCurry, Beaumont, TX The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her many friends and the staff of Coosa Valley Health and Rehab. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Youth Department at North Glencoe Baptist Church, 1119 Chastain Blvd, Gadsden, AL 35903.
