Mary Jane Sudduth, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born January 5, 1932 to Homer Cullen and Louise Jones Sudduth. She graduated from Columbia International University and was a missionary to Jamaica, West Indies for 15 years, then taught Bible for 24 years in the Pontotoc City, Pontotoc County, Corinth, MS and Jacksonville, FL schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pontotoc. Jane was also a member of the MS Professional Educators. She loved to share the gospel with others.
Services will be at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Dr. Ken Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home is honored to assist the Sudduth family.
Survivors include her two sisters, Martha Shempert and Patsy Moore; a niece, Stacey Basden (Randy) and a nephew, Jim Shempert (Hannah).
She was preceded in death by her parents and two nieces, Shelley Logan and Jane Moore Pickett.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
