Mary Jane McCullough, 89, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at the River Oaks Assisted Living Center in Coppell, TX. She was born April 9, 1926 in Greenville to the Reverend Dr. John William and Ann Young, and graduated from Central High School in Jackson. Mary Jane earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Belhaven College and took graduate studies at the Vanderbilt School of Social Work. For years she was an administrator in the Mississippi Department of Human Services, developing programs for child protection. Active in the First Presbyterian Church – Tupelo for over sixty-five years, Mary Jane was an Elder, a longtime choir member, and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Saturday Reading Club, North MS Medical Center Ethics Committee, a member of the Community Chorus, and an avid bridge player. She enjoyed attending and supporting Tupelo Community Theater and the Tupelo Symphony.

Services will be 10 AM Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her children, Ann Eadie of Jacksonville, FL, Beth Santagata (Frank) of Staten Island, NY, Sally McCullough of Staten Island, NY and Tom McCullough (Cyndi) of Coppell, TX; seven grandchildren, Kelly Eadie, Laura Jane Eadie, Lauren McCullough, Joseph Santagata, Morgan McCullough, Matthew McCullough and Wyatt Eadie.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, George L. McCullough, and one brother, John Young.

Pallbearers will be Billy McCullough, Mike McCullough, Bob Ray, Greg Ray, Leroy Babin, Bill Young and Harper Young.

Memorials may be made to the Music, Mission, and Worship Funds at First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be 4 – 6 Sunday at McFadden Hall at First Presbyterian Church.
