Mary Jane Hellums, 89, a life-long resident of Russellville, Alabama, passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2024. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, James Tulen Hellums, her son, David Erwin Hellums, her daughter, Emily Kay Hellums, her father, Richard Lacy Andrews, her mother, Grace Long Andrews, her eight brothers, Theo Andrews, Billy Andrews, Bob Andrews, Jack Andrews, John Andrews, Charlie Andrews, Paul Andrews and one sister, Linda Keeton.

She is survived by her sister, Talma Hand, her grandchildren, Drew Austin Hellums, Ashley Caroline Weber (Brent), Houston Tyler Hellums, their mother Cheryl Amos Hellums, one great-granddaughter, Harper Elizabeth Weber, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane, affectionately known as “Aunt Sis” to many, was a homemaker and loved the role of being a mother and Nana to her grandchildren. You could always find a good meal cooking in her home with plenty to share for all those who stopped by for a visit. There was always a good time going on at the Hellums’ house, from playing card games to sharing holiday meals together and visiting with many friends and family.

Mary Jane will be missed dearly by her earthly family and friends but we take comfort in knowing that she is now resting easy, in the arms of Jesus, and has been reunited with her husband, children and family. May she rest in eternal peace.
