Mary Howell Jackson – Obituary

mary-jackson-obituary, 79, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014.

Mary was born in Hamilton, Alabama, and was a graduate of Hamilton High School. She later was a graduate of the University of Alabama. She was a first grade teacher in the Russellville City School system and retired from there after 33 years of teaching. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville. Mary loved gardening and loved beautiful flowers.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with the funeral to be held at 2:00. Burial will be in Fulton Bridge Church Cemetery in Hamilton, Alabama.

Survivors include husband, Gerald Jackson; sisters, Enice Howell Turner, Wetumka, AL, Louise Howell Smith, Trussville, AL; brother, Bryan Howell, Gardendale, AL; nephews, Reagan Howell (Betty), Gardendale, AL, John Howell, Washougal, WA, Fred Gault (Norma), Chattanooga, TN, Neal Turner, Jr., (Laurie), Montgomery, AL, Mark Smith (Lynn), Birmingham, AL, Jay Smith (Vickie), Birmingham, AL; nieces, Martha Turner Jackson, Montgomery, AL, Deborah Smith Scott (Wayne), Chattanooga, TN, Beverly Howell Deal (Richard), Sheffield, AL; several grand-nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by, parents, Rufus Bryan Howell and Alice Dill Howell; brother, Bobby Howell; sisters, Eunice Howell Gault, Jeanette Howell; nephew, Tommy Smith.
