Mary Grace King Miller, 82, was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, at her residence in Falkner, MS, following a brief illness.
Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Mary Grace’s life will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, at 1 PM in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Miller and Sammy Barnett officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, in the Heritage Chapel of the Ripley Funeral Home, from 5 PM until 8 PM and will continue Friday, June 7, 2024, from 9 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Falkner, MS.
Mrs. Mary Grace was born on September 14, 1941, in Tiplersville, MS, to the late Hubert and Grace Harrison McDowell. She received her education from Falkner High School and was employed with Tippah County Hospital as a supervisor in the Nutritional Services Department for thirty-two years before her retirement. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, her smile was something she was always known for.
A devoted Christian and faithful member of Macedonia Deentown Baptist Church in Blue Mountain, Mrs. Miller often played piano, loved her Lord selflessly, and always took one day at a time. Some of Mary Grace’s favorite past times included reading and watching the Carol Burnett Show. She was gentle, kind, quiet and humble and always enjoyed sharing time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memories include one son, James King (Lynn) of Pine Grove, three daughters, Amy Cissom (Joe) of Dry Creek, Lee Barnett (Sammy) of Iuka, Jamie Myers (Pat) of Ripley, one sister, Nelda Kitchens (Charles) of Louisville, MS, two brothers, Holland McDowell of Tiplersville, Eddie McDowell (Becky) of Selmer, TN, five grandchildren, Matt King (Casey), Jacob King, Kelsey Jones (Alex), Kaitlyn Myers and Sam Barnett, two great-grandchildren, Cora and Ann James King and baby Jones, arriving December 2024, and a special caregiver, Mary Martin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller is preceded in death by her first husband of twenty years and father of her children, James “Sonny” King, her second husband of three years, Henry Miller, and a special sister-in-law, Ellen McDowell.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Sam Barnett, Darrell Cain, Joe Cissom, Alex Jones, Jacob King, Matt King and Pat Myers.
