Mary Frances Williams, 89, of Florence passed away on Feb. 11, 2014 at
Huntsville Hospital following an extended illness. She was the
daughter of Fred and Vivian Herring from Franklin County.
Mrs. Williams was an educator for more than forty years in Colbert and Franklin counties.
She was a graduate of the University of North Alabama where she earned
her Education Specialist degree. Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 6-8pm at Greenview Funeral Home and prior to the service. The funeral service will be in Greenview Memorial Chapel on Saturday February 15, 2014 at 1:00pm with Dr. John Brock officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy T. Williams Sr., sons-in-law Richard Derrick and Garry Thompson, brothers Gerald Herring and Donald
Herring. Survivors include her son Roy Travis Williams, Jr., Florence,
AL; daughters Becky Toone (Joey) of Athens, AL; Beth Rowland of Birmingham,
AL; Jean Reynolds (Mike) of Lawrenceville, GA; Susan Thompson of
Lawrenceville, GA, and Pam Derrick of Tuscaloosa, AL. Three sisters
Mable Rogers, Carolyn Epperson, Catherine Jenkins, and one brother
Harold Herring,14 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 10 great–
grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and granddaughters.
