Mary Frances Smith departed this life on November 23, 2014 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 3 Months, and 14 Days. She was born on August, 9 1930, the daughter of the late Cecil and Getha Mae Carroll.
She was united in marriage to Herman Louie Smith on April 1, 1989. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2009.
Mrs. Smith was retired from working as the Cafeteria Manager of the Adamsville Elementary School. She also used to work for Garran Manufacturing. Mary was a charter member of the First Christian Church in Adamsville, Tennessee. She loved cooking, gardening, and fishing, as well as going on walks, horseback riding, and being outdoors. She also loved to spend as much time as she could with her family.
Mary Frances Smith is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Duck and her husband, Alton, of Adamsville, Tennessee, Margaret Stephenson and her husband, Dwight, of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Carlotta DeShazier and her husband, G.O., of Adamsville, Tennessee; one brother, Paul C. Carroll of Adamsville, Tennessee; one sister, Peggy Blurton of Lexington, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brian Duck, Amy Stephenson Smith, Robin Stephenson Gilbert, Casandra Lynn Prestridge, and Tracy Borden; and five great-grandchildren, Carson Smith, Jack Smith, Logan Gilbert, Lily Gilbert, and George Davis.
In addition to her parents and second husband, Herman, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Ray Gattis; and one brother, Garlan D. Carroll.
