  Mary Frances O’Neal born in Washington D.C. on May 19th, 1946. Mary was proceeded in death by her mother and father Robert Valentine Williams and Frances Williams, and her brother Barry Williams; granddaughter, Jennifer Logan Harrison, great-granddaughter, Lily Hecker; great-grandson, Leon Hecker.

Mary is survived by her daughters Martha Ann Townsend and her husband Chris Townsend and her grandchildren children Trevor and Laura Lovely. Daughter Megan O’Neal Thornton and husband Blake Thornton and granddaughter Cameron Thornton. She is also survived by her siblings Pat Williams, Johnny Williams, Diane and Christine. In lieu of flowers donations to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in your area would be greatly appreciated!

Mary Frances O’Neal married her high school sweetheart Michael Simms O’Neal where they met in Washington D.C. at Washington Lee High School. They ran away to North Carolina where they eloped because it was legal to get married without parental consent. Then it was off to South Carolina for Mike to join the Citadel and begin his career in the Navy, with Mary by his side to support this journey. They had two beautiful daughters Martha Ann and Megan. Mary had to make many moves and make new homes for their family along this journey. She was a loving mother, wife, military spouse, grandmother, writer and devoted servant of God through Jehovah Witnesses and the Kingdom Hall. Mary started her life in Washington D.C. and was one of 9 children. She married the love of her life and set sail on a Naval journey across the world. Mary never met a stranger. She could talk to anyone and always was willing to share of Gods everlasting love. Mary left this world in August 5th, 2023. She will be greatly missed by all who ever knew or met her. We love you mama, and we will see you again in paradise. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Williams Funeral Home of Florence directing.
