Mary Frances Justice, 77, died October 28, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Justice was
born October 4, 1946, in Dothan, AL, the only child of Jack Morris Woodham and Lala
Ruth Riley Woodham. She was married to her late husband, Jerrell B. Justice, for 56
years. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and special aunt, Lena Mae
Riley.
Mrs. Justice was a 1965 graduate of Dale County High School and attended Judson
College for one year. From the time of her marriage in 1967, Mrs. Justice devoted her
life to caring for her husband, three children, and their home. She was a wonderful
cook, sharing her talent often with her family through what she called “special suppers.”
These ranged from simple back to school suppers to cooking favorite dishes on their
birthdays and holidays! Mrs. Justice also loved animals, especially dogs, and cared for
their many pets over the years.
She is survived by: her son Jeffrey Justice, daughter: Jeanna (Jason) Plunkett;
daughter: Jackie Justice; grandchildren: Jonathan (Kensley) Plunkett, Jeremy (Karsyn)
Plunkett, Jordan Burgess, Kyndall Bennett (Scoot), and Jamey Plunkett; and
greatgrandchild: Huxton Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heartlite Hospice. They
took such wonderful care of Mrs. Justice in her final months. Donations can be mailed
to 111 East Laurel St, Scottsboro, AL, 35768.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Arab Heritage Memorial
Chapel with burial to follow in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial
Chapel directing.
Pallbearers are Jeff Justice, Jason Plunkett, Jonathan Plunkett, Jeremy Plunkett,
Jordan Burgess, and Jamey Plunkett.
