Mary Frances (Galvin) Crosson, 86, passed away at her home in Huntsville, Alabama on February 9, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Mary was born on July 15, 1936 in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. She moved to London, England in 1955 to begin her career in sales. Mary moved to the United States in 1960 upon her marriage, and after many moves as a military spouse, she  finally settled in Huntsville, Alabama. She was employed by Sears and JCPenney’s as a sales associate for over 35 years before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Mamie Galvin; her brothers, Dennis Galvin, Gerry Galvin and Billy Galvin; and sister-in-law, Mary Doherty Galvin. She leaves behind her four beloved children, Sheila Burnette, Carol Ann White, Angela Stogner (Jason), and Alan Crosson; as well as her two brothers, Patrick “Paddy” Galvin and Jim Galvin (Rose); and sister-in-law, Margaret Galvin. She was blessed with nine amazing grandchildren, Tyler Burnette, Patrick White, Kayla Burnette, Raven Crosson, Daniel White, Ciaran Crosson, Jessica Stogner, John Allen Stogner and Aedan Crosson; as well as four great-grandchildren, Nolan White, Delilah Jade Crosson, Raegan White and Mary Frances White.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends as well as traveling back home to Ireland to visit her beloved family. She loved to tell stories and her laughter was contagious. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor.

She will be missed tremendously.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
