Mary "Frances" Fields Harris Mary “Frances” Fields Harris, 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at her Madison home with family.

Frances was born December 7, 1938 in Huntsville, AL.  As a Madison County native, she lived through many changes in the Huntsville/Madison area.  She was an employee of Fifth Avenue Hospital, which later became Huntsville Hospital.  After retiring, she enjoyed some special trips with her husband, Barton, as they visited relatives and traveled some with family.  Frances was a wonderful cook and everyone looked forward to a good Southern meal.

Frances and Barton Moore Harris married on August 28, 1955.  The two were lifelong companions and life together became more treasured in the latter years.  They were blessed with three daughters and always loved having a pet or two in their family.  Frances was a life-long member of College Park Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Barton Harris; daughters: Rhonda (Edd) Carter, Karen Tippens, and Renee’ (Mike) Cole; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and stepsister, Donna Bockstoce.

Frances was preceded in death by her father, George Fields; mother, Helen Harrell; and brother, Travis Fields.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 26th from 12:30 – 1:30 PM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by service at 1:30 with Rev. Paul Lombard and Pastor Tim Lanier.  Sons-in-law and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.  Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
