Evelyn Winters Mary “Evelyn” Winters, age 95, of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, died Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at NHC in Springfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock pm, Sunday, August 18th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Tom Payne officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with her sons & grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 17th from 2:00-6:00PM, and again on Sunday beginning at 12:00PM until the hour of service at 2:00PM.

Mrs. Winters was born on October 13, 1928, in Cheatham County, Tennessee, to the late D.F. “Bill” & Cora Binkley Bess. She was a retired librarian with the Montgomery County Board of Education, and a member of Stroudsville Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Winters; step-mother, Cynthia “Tommie” Bess; brother, George Bolton Bess; and daughter-in-law, Belinda Winters.

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Lyons; sons, Rick Winters, Mark (Linda) Winters, and Tommy (Judy) Winters; sister, Audrey Greer; grandchildren, Andy Winters, Cortney (Chris) Gunn; Matthew Winters, Justin (Jennifer) Winters, Allison (Charlie) Jackson, and Tara Winters; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Amy Flora for all her loving care given to Mrs. Evelyn.
