Mary Evelyn Scoggin, age 92, passed away Friday February 7, 2020 at NHC Healthcare Sequatchie. She was born January 1, 1928 to the late Silas and Hester Hale Singleton. She was a nurse for many years at Bledsoe County Hospital and was a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by husband Wilson “Sput” Scoggin, step-son James Scoggin, sister Marie Bayless, brother James T. Singleton and son-in-law Ralph Andrews. She is survived by son James (Peggy) Singleton of Daytona Beach, FL, daughter Frances Scoggin of Riverside, CA, brother Robert (Marie) Singleton of Kissimmee, FL, daughter-in-law Martha Scoggin of Dayton, TN, grandchildren Karen Bandy, Stephanie Scoggin and Jane Dhuivetter. Special friends Dennis and Peggy Dishman. Mary chose cremation for her final disposition. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
