Mary Evelyn Huffstatler Henry “Sissy”, 79, died at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, Mississippi on June 4, 2024. She was born to Bettie Huffstatler and John “C.A.” Huffstatler on December 23rd, 1944, in Houston, Ms. She graduated from Ingomar Attendance Center and worked for Piper Impact in New Albany, Ms. She married Donald Henry, and was blessed with two daughters, Marcy Garner and Cindy Morris, whom she resided with before her death. Many friends remember her for her crazy sense of humor and the love she had for her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, who she called “apples”. She loved family gatherings, holidays, and especially going to the casinos. Her view of life was one of laughter and joy and could bring laughter to almost any situation.
Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Morris (Perry), sister Donna Huffstatler Bukovac (Larry), brother David (Boe) Huffstatler (Jimmie), grandchildren Timothy Henry, Chad Gatewood, Stacy Garner, and Trey Garner; and eight great “apples” grandchildren, Peyton Tanner and Presley Lipford, Addyson Jernigan, Carly, Tyson, and Brantley Henry, Oliver Garner and the smallest apple and playmate Nash Gatewood. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by parents, her daughter, Marcy Garner and her grandson Justin Gatewood.
Services will be Saturday, June 8th at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, MS with visitation starting at 12PM. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in New Albany, MS. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tim Henry, Chad Gatewood, Trey Garner, Britt Huffstatler, Peyton Tanner, and Tyson Henry. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brantley Henry, Nash Gatewood and Oliver Garner.
