Granny, Mama, Mary, Aunt Stell was a member of Florence Blvd. Church of Christ for more than 55 years. She and Leon raised their 3 children there while making many lifelong friends. She was very involved in many activities and always willing to serve.  One of her most beautiful passions was sending cards. If she knew you, I’m sure you received one with a handwritten note.  These were given to put a smile on your face whether a Special day or your worse day. While cooking for the sick and shut- ins many also benefitted from her hair cuts and perms done on her time off. She would proudly tell you about being a hairdresser for 43 ½ years while being trained as a Master Cosmetologist. No one would ever see her without every hair in place, lip liner and lipstick on, sporting a different purse than the day before.  And don’t forget the jewelry, Rings (2-3) on each finger, multiple earrings and shoes that match today’s outfit. Some may call this GAUTY……. But she was a Class Act, and this was our Granny. When we visited (especially the grands) and saw her Big Beautiful Smile it would remind us of the unconditional Love she taught and gave us. In knowing she lived a life devoted to Jesus we know she is now resting with him with a forever smile. Wiliams Funeral Home of Florence directing.
