Mary Ellen Williams, age 74, a resident of Culleoka, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Mark Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born on December 29, 1946, in Columbia, and was the daughter of the late Jack Cummins and the late Marie Harned Crumley. She married David Williams, Sr. on January 1, 1963, together they owned and operated Williams Country Store. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2015. Mary worked over twenty years in the dry-cleaning business and was a crowd favorite at Columbia Farmer’s Fresh Market for her delicious fried pies, cakes, and breads. The only thing she loved more than cooking and baking was her family, friends, and two dogs, Rusty and Lucky. She was a member of Blue Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, David (Kerry) Williams, Jr. of Culleoka, Mark Williams of Nashville, daughter, Becky (Marcia) Williams of Culleoka, brothers, Tommy Crumley of Culleoka, Tim (Wendy) Crumley of Culleoka, Boyd Crumley, and grandchildren, David (Tonya) Williams, III of Culleoka and Cody Williams of Culleoka.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Cummins, Sammy Crumley, and Lance Crumley.
Pallbearers will be David Williams, III, Cody Williams, Tim Grizzard, David Hubbell, Justin Crumley, and Zechariah Kratzer. Honorary pallbearers will include the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Compassus.
