Mary Ellen Royster, 76, Ardmore, Alabama passed away Friday December 29, 2023, at her home.
Mary was born on March 2, 1947, to the late Roy McLemore and Bertie Pettus McLemore. She has been an Ardmore resident all her life and was of the Methodist faith. She worked for the Ardmore school system for 42 years as a Bus Driver and a substitute teacher. She loved working in her flowers, sewing, quilting, cooking, fishing but most of all her grandchildren and school kids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 38 years, G.C. Royster; sister, Betty Spears; and brother, James McLemore.
She is survived by her son Mike Royster (Candy Collins); daughters, Jackie Honea and Bridgette (Garrett) Mason; brother, Johnny McLemore; sisters, JoAnn (Alfred) Rouse, Retha (Robert) Nance, and Grace (Dennis) Call; grandson, Michael Todd Honea; and great granddaughters, Abigail and Olivia Mason.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A chapel service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Lance Pitts and Bro. Doug Colwell officiating.
Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery in the Cairo community of Athens, Alabama.
