Mary Ellen Martin, born March 20, 1934 in the Newburg Community of Franklin County, entered into eternal rest at Hendrix Healthcare and Rehabilitation on Monday, December 28, 2020.
Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed going to church, talking to Jesus and working in her yard. She would always give to those in need even though she didn’t have much.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Pleasant Hill No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Brother Larry Dyar and Brother Tim Box will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Robert) Thornton, Sandra (John) Schafer and Sheila Garrison; grandchildren, Susan Thornton, Chris Miller, Linda (Dustin) Johnson, Nathan (Christa) Rhodes, James Floyd, Katti Nicole (Patrick) Mann, Jerred Clint Schafer, and Erik Ryan (Katlin) Schafer; great grandchildren, Parker Johnson, Deklyn Johnson, John Patrick Mann, Alianna Schafer, and Maverick Schafer; and her sister, Elsie Newell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Verble” Martin; parents, William and Eva Borden; four brothers; and one sister.
