Mary Elizabeth Lipscomb, age 101 of Ridgetop, TN passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2021 at Stone Ridge Nursing Home in Ridgetop, TN. Her funeral services will be held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home Springfield on Sunday, February 14th at 2:00 PM with Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Stan Cherry, David Cherry, Chris Adcock, Kenny Adams, Dwayne Adcock and Johnny Fisher serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 4pm to 7pm, Saturday, February 13th and 12pm until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born is Robertson County, TN on November 25, 1919 to the late Harvey Wesley and Carrie Frances Reynolds Gregory. She was preceded in death by husband and father of her children, Howard Carr; second husband Zelma Lipscomb; daughter, Mary Ellen Mondt; brothers, Walter Gregory, Carl Gregory, Harold Gregory; Raymond Gregory; sisters, Fern Nash, Margaret Fisher and Rachel Starks.
She loved her family, cooking, sewing and going to church. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Frances Adcock of Springfield, Doretha Carr of Springfield, Mildred (Rick) Groves of Portland; sister, Barbara Jean Wilhelm of Greenbrier; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
