Mary Elizabeth Hardin, 83, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at NMMC-Tupelo, MS. Born on July 19, 1941, to William and Thelma Wyatt in Hotchkiss, WV, she was the oldest of 10 children. She went on to graduate from Sophia High School with honors. She later married and had six children. After retirement she moved to MS where she resided in the Cairo Community surrounded by her family. Reading books, playing cards, shopping, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and friends were things she enjoyed the most.
Survivors include her brother, James Wyatt of WV; her sisters, Nancy Belcher (Bill) of WV, Mabel Hogue of WV, Wanda Nottingham (Bill) of OH, and Shelby Wood of Pontotoc; five children, Marie McGuire, Johnny Hardin, David Hardin, Jimmy Hardin, and Michael Hardin (Trina) all of the Cairo Community; 29 grandchildren; 36+ great-grandchildren; as well as several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma Wyatt; her brothers, Roy Wyatt and William Wyatt, sisters, Janice Hilton and Patty Nottingham; son, Parker Hardin, Jr.; and a grandson, Michael Hardin, Jr.
Services will be Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Kenneth Bishop officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 23rd 5-8PM and Saturday, August 24th 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Hardin, Rebecca McGuire, Justin Robbins, Jacob Robbins, Craig Hardin, and Bradley McGuire.
