Mary Eileen Newman – Obituary

Mary Eileen Newman, 95, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday. Mrs. Newman was born in Milan, MO and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Quincy, IL in 1938. Mary moved to Huntsville in 1954 where she spent her life loving her family, church and friends. She was a nurse at Fifth Avenue Hospital and later retired from Huntsville Hospital in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Newman.

Survivors include her children, Judy Clark (Frank) of Hattiesburg, MS, Carol Hix (David), Greg Newman (Marcia), Larry Newman (Maribeth) and Michael Newman (Norma), all of Huntsville; ten grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joe Lubrano officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank Marie Marrs and Joyce Hereford for their loving care of our mother.
