Mary E. Nash, a beloved member of the community and a factory worker, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, at Union County Health and Rehab. She was born on December 24, 1930, in Rolling Hollow.

Mary had a fulfilling life and touched the hearts of many during her time on Earth. She graduated from high school and embarked on a career as a factory worker. Her dedication and hard work were admired by her colleagues and left a lasting impact.

Outside of work, Mary had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought her joy. She was passionate about cooking and was known for preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Quilting was another favorite pastime of hers, and she poured her creativity into each stitch she made. Mary derived immense happiness from attending church regularly and found solace in prayer. Gardening was yet another way she found peace and contentment as she nurtured her plants with care. Additionally, she looked forward to shopping for Christmas in July, an activity that brought excitement to her summers.

Mary’s loving nature extended beyond her hobbies as she cared deeply for her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters Linda Johnson and Debra Thompson (Mac) and her grandchildren Misty Joe Hughes (Bill), Tracey Carmickle, Renea Mahana, Gary Dewayne Colburn, Jennifer Smith, Tina Meza, Cassy Lovern, Crissy Lovern, 17 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nash is preceded in death by her parents Finis Botts and Vera Denison, her husband Euplo JC Colburn, her son Gary Colburn, grandchildren Stephen Chism, Hollie Chism, Sherry Colburn, Mandy Colburn and 2 brothers.

To honor Mary’s life and remember the joy she brought to those around her, a visitation will take place on July 16, 2023, at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for friends and loved ones to pay their respects and share fond memories of Mary.

Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Vista Memorial Park Cemetery in New Albany, MS. The service will commence at 4:00 PM It will serve as a final farewell to Mary as she is laid to rest.

Mary E Nash will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kind spirit, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to her passions will never be forgotten. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
