The widow of George E. Henson, who died on November 8, 1993 after 46 years of marriage, she was a homemaker. She was born May 17, 1924 in McNairy County, Tennessee, daughter of the late Albert Warren and Maude Crangle Willis and lived here since the early 1940’s. She married George E. Henson on September 6, 1947 and was formerly active in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and church trips with her friends. Mrs. Henson was a member of First Baptist Church in Whiteville.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Phillip and Connie Henson of Jackson; a grandson and his wife, David and Kelly Henson of Memphis; a sister, Jerry Cain of Selmer; a brother, A. C. Willis (Trudy) of Newport News, VA; several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Sweat and Bertha Moore; and two brothers, Howard and Charles Glen Willis. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the First Baptist Church of Whiteville.
