Mary Davis Tucker On Sunday, March 7th, Mary Davis Tucker, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at 68. She was born in Independence, Kansas to Hank and Clarice Davis. In 1974 she graduated from Wichita State with a degree in psychology and a minor in accounting, and in 1992 from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with an electrical engineering degree. On May 24th, 1975 she married Bill Tucker, with whom she raised four children.

She was active in her community and worked with bands, sports programs, and parent volunteer groups at her children’s schools. She was strongly involved in Girl Scouts of America: as a scout for seven years, and then later in life as a troop leader/service unit cookie chair for twenty-three years. A member of the United Church of Christ for much of her life, in recent years she served as Treasurer for the United Church of Huntsville. She was an avid Pokémon Go player and played for other people on their accounts once she reached level 40.

She was a truly beautiful spirit, extravagantly caring and generous until the end. She largely adopted any friends of her children who needed a supportive place to be, and they always left well-fed and having laughed a lot. She will be remembered for her humor and gaiety, firmness in her conviction to love every person as an individual, strong sense of fun, and fierce dedication to her family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Davis. She is survived by brother, Neil Davis; husband, Bill Tucker; children, Jason, Bridget, Ben, Zack, and Zoë; grandchildren, Meredith and Alex; and many cousins and other family.

A live digital service will be held through the United Church of Huntsville on Saturday, March 13th at 2 p.m. Details for online attendance will be available on the United Church of Huntsville Facebook page.
