Mary Clementine "Tine" Gallagher Smith Mary Clementine “Tine” Gallagher Smith, age 94 of Alto, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at her residence with her loving husband of 74 years by her side. She was born on July 9, 1926 in Pelham, TN to the late Joseph Edmund Gallagher (WWI Veteran) and Aubrey Patton Gallagher. She was a devoted member of St. Margaret Mary’s in Alto and steadfast in her Catholic faith. Tine was a passionate prayer warrior and faithful reader of her Bible. She was a devoted homemaker, cooking and canning from her garden providing wonderful meals around the kitchen table. Attending to her flowers and plants and enjoying her children and grandchildren’s pool time were among her favorite past times. Tine was the anchor and the rock of her family. She was devoted to her husband and always nurtured her children. One of her greatest attributes was her willingness to listen and offer counsel to friends and family. She was also an example for her community and offered her services whenever they were needed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Clark Gallagher (WWII Veteran), Benton Gallagher (WWII Veteran), Willodean Gallagher and Jim Gallagher; grandchildren, Holly Smith and Patrick Smith; and son-in-law, Charles Stovall. She is survived by her husband, Roy W. Smith, Jr. of Decherd; children, Bill (Betty) Smith of Decherd, Pamela (Jim) Martin of Winchester, Cynthia Stovall of Winchester, Lauralee Stephens of Decherd, Joe Wayne (Kim) Smith of Winchester, Patti (Jimmy Dale) Huber of Winchester, Glenn Dale (Kim) Smith of Decherd and Stacie (Shannon) Medley of Winchester; sister, Virginia Gipson of Estill Springs; grandchildren, Chris (Misti) Smith, Nicholas Smith, Sloane Smith, Gabrielle Coleman, Olivia Summers, Jeremy (Lisa) Stephens, Ashley (Matt) Davis, Paige (Casey) Eckstein, Dylan (Shelley) Stephens, Adam Smith, Jonas Smith, Miles (Keri) Smith, Eric Huber, Haley (Kevin) Herring, Hannah Huber (Jacob Lewis), Joshua Smith, Courtney (Stephen) Britton, Colby (Alejandra) Medley and Luke (Christina) Medley; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; loving caregivers, Dasha Wiser and Lisa Stephens. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Sunday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday, August 17, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Taylor officiating.
