Mary Catherine Russell Kelly 79, died Thursday, July 20,2017 at the North MS Medical Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Kelly was born Feb 15, 1938 in Itta Bena, MS to the late Dewey and Maudie Spears Russell. She retired from the Dept. of Human Services after many years of service, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Kelly loved spending time with her family, enjoyed gardening, and growing beautiful flowers, and she loved her cats. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
A service celebrating her life will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Lowell Johnson officiating. Private burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. today Saturday, July 22, 2017 and from noon-service time on Sunday at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Dan Kelly, three sons; Matt (Melissa) Kelly, Danny (Susan) Kelly, and Randy Kelly all of Tupelo; 4 grandchildren; Matthew (Jesse) Kelly, Marty Kelly, Michael (Leslie) Leslie, and Melody (Brent) Byars all of Tupelo, and 3 great-grandchildren Kylie and chase Byars and Tucker Leslie. She has one brother and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren; Hope and Auction Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Cody Clayton, Trent Kelly, Brandon Williams, Donnie Copeland, Donald Dykes and Ken Clayton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mathew Kelly, Marty Kelly, and Jesse Kelly.
