The funeral service for Mrs. Mary Catherine Grogan Green, age 82 of Lineville, will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Dwayne Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Green passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the RMC – Stringfellow Hospital in Anniston. She was a native and life-long resident of Clay County and a graduate of Clay County High School, Class of 1954. She had been employed as a nursing assistant and was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God in Ashland.
Mrs. Green is survived by one daughter, Sherri Langford of Lineville; three sons: Chuck Green and David Green, both of Boaz and John Green of Bremen, GA; one sister, Betty Pugh of New Site, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Wiley Otis Grogan and Beulah Lee Pitts Grogan; her husband, William E. Green; one son, Mike Green and four sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jason Green, Jeff Green, Aaron Langford, Trent Green, Seth Green and Boyd Green.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
