Mary Casey King, age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
She married Bobby King. They had no children, but had a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She grew up in a large family of 12 children and 9 that lived. She is survived by sisters; Pearl Brown of Oneonta and Martha Hardesty of Illinois. She lost her husband in 2008 from a long illness. She had dogs all of her life and called them her babies. She always said “I have to get home to my babies.”
She volunteered several years at Shepherd’s Cove Thrift Store. She belonged to Friendship Baptist Church and loved all of her church family. She worked in injection molding while she lived up north for 30 years and then did the same work at Plasticraft in Albertville until she retired. That is where she met Julia Gunter and became best friends. They both retired and lost their husbands three weeks apart. She and Julia did about everything together. She loved shopping at thrift stores and going to eat Mexican food.
The family would like to thank Bro. George Knott and Bro. Jon Rogers for their support and kindness during Mary’s illness. Also, special thanks to doctors and nurses at Marshall Medical Center and Shepherd’s Cove for their care for Mary while there. We appreciated all of you and may God bless you.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Albertville Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Forrest Home Cemetery. Rev. George Knott will officiate. The pallbearers will be friends of the family. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday before the service.
