Mary Carolyn Hughes Gobble, age 78, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Wednesday, December 06, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, retired from the State of Tennessee where she was a receptionist for David Crockett State Park, and a member of Flatwoods Church of Christ. She loved her grandkids, studying her Bible, and going on beach vacations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas Reedus and Mary Charlene Welch Hughes; and two sisters, Mauvline Purcell and Jane Elizabeth Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Barry Bryant Gobble (Ginger) of Lawrenceburg, TN and Mark Hughes Gobble (Sydney) of Columbia, TN; four grandchildren, Taylor Gobble Pollock (Tye), Bryant James Gobble (Sarah), Willa Pineybrook Gobble, and Weston Hollon-Hughes Gobble; one great-granddaughter on the way, Evelyn Pollock; one sister, Joyce Hughes Clark of Lawrenceburg, TN; and one brother, Jerry Hughes (Mary Ann) of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 08, 2023, and from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Saturday, December 09, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Pulaski Street Church of Christ at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 09, 2023, with Jacob Evans officiating. Interment will follow at OK Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association.
