Mrs. Mary C. Bevis, 74, of Florence, passed away Nov. 25, 2013, at her residence. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Macedonia.
Visitation was last evening. The funeral service will be today at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ at Macedonia with Arvy Dupuy and Norman Hargett officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Bevis was preceded in death by her infant son; parents, Robert and Clara Scott Benson; and sisters, Madeline Benson, Nellie Austin, and Robbie Michael.
She is survived by her husband, James Darrell Bevis; son, Sidney Bevis (Susan); daughter, Tracy Murphy (Mark); sister, Shirley Smith; grandchildren, Alicia Durham (Daniel), Jenny Burchell (Eddie), Michelle, Brandon, and Dylan Murphy; great-grandchildren, Logan and Hunter Durham; and future great-grandchild, Avery Burchell.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Brent Smith, Randy Smith, Larry Hill, Gene Purdy, and Justin Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hill, Rod Balentine, Don Bevis, Lloyd Smith, Aaron Michael, and Harvey Austin.
